Concordia University's John Molson School of Business crowned champion at the 2011 Jeux du commerce TD Assurance Meloche Monnex
MONTREAL, Jan. 10 /CNW Telbec/ - The delegation from John Molson School of Business at Concordia University performed brilliantly, winning top honours at the 2011 Jeux du Commerce TD Assurance Meloche Monnex, held from January 7 to 10 at the University of Ottawa's Telfer School of Management. The 23rd edition of the Jeux du commerce marked the 5th year of partnership with TD Insurance Meloche Monnex.
The 2011 Jeux du commerce TD Assurance Meloche Monnex offered a wealth of challenges. The participating universities had to stand out in the analysis and resolution of business cases, parliamentary style debates, a stock simulation that involved managing equities while reacting to the market, athletic events, etc. The competition brought together nearly 1,200 students and volunteers from 13 Francophone and Anglophone universities in Eastern Canada (Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick).
Henry Blumenthal, Vice-President and Chief Underwriter, TD Insurance and Honorary Chair of the event, expressed pride at being able to work with the top Canadian students in business administration: "Congratulations to the students of the John Molson School of Business and bravo to all the delegations for their outstanding achievements in a multitude of cutting-edge sectors while respecting the strict standards of ethical management."
This academic challenge, the largest of its kind in Canada, required discipline and the ability to go beyond one's limits. With this in mind, tomorrow's CEOs had to show what they were capable of doing to meet the requirements of business administration.
"It is essential for all good managers, in running a company, to consider the impact their management style has on the world around them. The ability to take all situational factors into account is a necessity in the business world and helps to instill an awareness of important values among the next generation of business leaders," said Liane Brière, President of the Organizing Committee.
