CALGARY, Aug. 12 /CNW/ - Elliston Park is about to be transformed into a feast for the eyes, ears and stomach with GlobalFest 2010. TD is inviting Calgarians to help kick off this year's festival, which will include five pyromusicals featuring Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and a finale produced by GlobalFest, as well as cultural pavilions, ethnic food kiosks, and performances from cultures all over the world.
"GlobalFest events throughout the year are a great way to experience different cultures and this Festival is definitely no exception! The way the fireworks display is choreographed to music and reflects off the lake truly makes it a one-of-a-kind show," says Ron McInnis, Senior Vice President, Prairie Region, TD Canada Trust. "At TD we embrace diversity and celebrate all cultures. We are proud to support diverse cultures in our branches and our employee base and this event gives us an opportunity to further that support by exposing Calgarians to cultures from around the world in ways they might not get to experience otherwise."
To help kick off this year's Festival, which runs August 20, 22, 24, 26 and 28, TD is inviting Calgarians for lunch on Wednesday, August 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Forest Lawn branch located at 3012 - 17th Avenue S.E. The lunch will feature:
<< - Food from two of the featured GlobalFest pavilions, Mexico Lindo and St. Vincent & the Grenadines (Caribbean). - The first 50 people to arrive will receive General Admission tickets to the opening night, Friday August 20, courtesy of TD. - The TD Mascot will make its first appearance in Calgary to welcome guests at the lunch. - GlobalFest will be onsite selling limited time offer tickets ($15 daily tickets for $7.50; $62.50 GlobalPasses for $25). >>
