TD Bank Financial Group Enlists General (Retired) Rick Hillier
TORONTO, Sept. 3 /CNW/ - TD Bank Financial Group has enlisted General (Retired) Rick Hillier to support initiatives that enhance the client and customer experience. This announcement marks the General's first partnership with a financial institution. "Working with the General provides us with unique and memorable opportunities to WOW! our clients and customers," said Ed Clark, President and CEO of TD Bank. "His distinguished military career will be a great source of insight and inspiration for us all. We're delighted he has chosen to work with TD, and look forward to his contributions." The General will work part-time out of a TD office in Ottawa, and may also be called upon to assist the Bank's ongoing leadership development and training activities. I look forward to contributing to its leadership position." General (Retired) Hillier's military career has spanned over three decades. He retired on July 1, 2008 as Chief of the Defence Staff for the Canadian Forces. Previous to this, the General served throughout Canada, including leading the Canadian Forces' commitment to the Quebec Ice Storm in 1998. He has also served with the United Nations and NATO forces in the former Yugoslavia and in Afghanistan.
