Making a Difference Together: TD Bank Financial Group's 2008 Corporate Responsibility Report Now Available
TORONTO, March 2 /CNW/ - TD Bank Financial Group today released its
seventh annual Corporate Responsibility Report. Titled "How are we making a
difference?" the report profiles TD's role as an active corporate citizen and
includes information about its community, social, environmental, and economic
impacts and performance.
"I'm proud to say, in 2008, TD stood firm in its commitment to its
communities, customers, employees, shareholders, fellow citizens and the
environment we all share," said Ed Clark, President and CEO, TD Bank Financial
Group. "For some organizations, in trying times like these, being a strong
corporate citizen can become less of a priority."
The report highlights TD's commitment to many initiatives such as:
- Supporting Children's Miracle Network foundation hospitals through
the TD Children's Hospital Fund;
- Encouraging children to read through the TD Summer Reading Club and
TD Canadian Children's Book Week;
- Awarding TD Canada Trust Scholarships for Community Leadership to 20
youth who made a difference in their communities;
- Providing more than $3 million in funding to more than 800 grassroots
environment and wildlife projects through the TD Friends of the
Environment Foundation;
- Recognizing and fostering diversity at work, in our communities and
among customers and clients.
The 2008 Corporate Responsibility Report complements TD's 2008 Annual
Report to Shareholders and demonstrates TD's dedication to being a transparent
and accountable organization. The report along with Canadian and U.S.
"snapshot versions" can be found online at www.td.com/corporateresponsibility.
