Media Advisory - TD Canada Trust "invests" in Canada's Future Leaders
TD Canada Trust Scholarship for Community Leadership program recognizes outstanding Canadian youth with awards worth $60,000 each OTTAWA, May 15 /CNW/ - Join TD Canada Trust in honouring some of Canada's most distinguished high-school students as they are awarded the TD Canada Trust Scholarship for Community Leadership. As one of the top scholarship programs in Canada, students are awarded full post-secondary tuition, $5,000 a year toward living expenses and an offer of summer employment at TD Canada Trust for up to four years - a total value of up to $60,000 each. The scholarship celebrates the spirit of volunteerism, community leadership and academic excellence. This year's winners include an 18 year-old who discovered a new anti-cancer agent, an acoustic guitar teacher who helped establish IT training programs for First Nation youth and the cousin of an autistic child who developed a musical learning tool that helps children with autism identify letters, words and sentences. WHAT: Homegrown heroes will be recognized for their academic achievements and outstanding contributions to communities across Canada.
