Media Advisory / Interview Opportunity - TD Friends of the Environment Foundation to Paint the Town Green
- Pop-up park coming to Hamilton in celebration of TD FEF's 25th anniversary -
HAMILTON, ON, July 13, 2015 /CNW/ -
WHAT: |
To mark 25 years of cultivating greener communities, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF) is transforming a concrete lot at 46 James St. N. in Hamilton into an interactive pop-up park from July 14 to July 18. |
Surrounded by native grasses, trees, log seating and tables, members of the community are invited to enjoy free community programming like urban gardening demonstrations, performances by local musicians, yoga classes, art sessions and other outdoor activities. |
|
Visitors will also have the chance to help #GreenWhereYouLive by making a donation to TD FEF while at the park or at a local TD bank branch. One hundred per cent of the funds raised will directly support additional greening projects in the community. Additionally, a $25,000 grant will be announced to a City of Hamilton Parks project. Elements of the pop-up park will also be donated to the City of Hamilton. |
