TD supports customers affected by massive flooding in Alberta with assistance program
CALGARY, June 23, 2013 /CNW/ - TD has put special considerations in place to assist customers with financial difficulties they may be experiencing due to severe flooding in communities across Alberta.
"As residents of Alberta including many TD employees and customers deal with the impacts of massive flooding and evacuations, TD is lending a helping hand to those in need. The goal of TD's assistance program is to provide support and peace of mind as our customers deal with this disaster," said Monique Bateman, Senior Vice President, TD Bank Group - Prairie Region and local Calgary resident. "We know that our impacted customers will have unique and personal needs as they try and get back to normal and we want them to know that we're here for them. We encourage customers to come into the branch to have individual discussions or to call us. Our thoughts are with those affected by the floods and we hope to play a part in alleviating some of the financial challenges that may come with a natural disaster of this magnitude."
TD is committed to helping our customers impacted by the flood and encourages customers to come talk to us to discuss their financial needs. Customers can do this by either going into one of our branches or by calling 1-866-222-3456 which will direct them to a team dedicated to supporting people impacted by the floods as well as provide information on branch availability. TD Insurance has also set up two mobile trailers at the following locations to assist customers with insurance claims and advice:
- 1216 Centre Street N
- 500-58 Avenue S.E.
TD is able to offer our impacted customers flexibility in a number of ways, including:
- Payment deferrals on your mortgage, personal loan, home-equity line of credit, small business loan, credit card payment, and automotive loan
- Reverse fees incurred such as non-TD ATM fees, overdraft fees, and return item fees
- Customers may withdraw GIC/term deposits without any early withdrawal penalty to gain access to these funds, as necessary
TD is also supporting the relief efforts with a $100,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross. TD Canada Trust branches are also accepting donations on behalf of the Canadian Red Cross from June 26 - July 26, 2013 across the country to support recovery efforts for communities across southern Alberta impacted by the recent floods. Customers can donate to the Canadian Red Cross and direct their funds to those impacted.
Customers can continue to get 7/24 access to and information about their money by phone through EasyLine (1-866-222-3456), online at EasyWeb (easyweb.tdcanadatrust.com), their smart phone, or at any TD Canada Trust branch or ATM not impacted by the flooding. In locations nearest those most impacted, we're adding employees to ensure our customers receive the very best care.
