TD Maintains Top Spot in Customer Service among the Big 5 Banks
- For eighth consecutive year TD is voted Number 1 by customers in Ipsos survey -
TORONTO, Aug. 23, 2012 /CNW/ - TD Canada Trust has earned the top spot in Customer Service Excellence among the big 5 banks in Canada for the eighth consecutive year according to global market research firm Ipsos. TD was an award recipient among the top 5 banks in all eleven categories and leads by a significant margin in four of the categories.
The Ipsos annual awards program ranks the top five banks and other financial institutions in eleven Best Banking Awards categories. The 2012 ranking recognized TD Canada Trust as an award recipient in the following categories among the top 5 banks:
- Customer service excellence*
- Interest rates and service charges*
- ATM banking excellence*
- Telephone banking excellence*
- Value for money
- Recommend to friends or family
- Values my business
- Products and services excellence
- Financial planning and advice

The Ipsos awards come just weeks after another major customer service award for the bank. J.D. Power and Associates' recent survey ranked TD Canada Trust highest in customer satisfaction among the banks for the seventh year in a row - every year they've been measuring service in Canada.
Ipsos 2012 Best Banking Awards are based on quarterly Customer Service Index (CSI) survey results. The sample source for CSI is from the Synovate (now Ipsos) Online Global Opinion Panel for Canada, using online data collection. Sample size for the total 2012 CSI program year ended August 2012 was 43,202 completed surveys yielding 63,750 financial institution ratings. The sample is representative of the general household population based on Statistics Canada census data.
