TD Tips for Canadians Travelling to the US
TORONTO, March 11 /CNW/ - Canadians' favourite March break travel destination is the United States. In fact, last March, over 80% of the trips that Canadians took were to the US, which has much to offer travellers, including a break from the long Canadian winter.
Whether it's a week at the beach or an overnight stay on business, TD is offering some tips for Canadian travellers to the US.
With the Canadian loonie currently quite strong against the US greenback, many Canadians may want to take advantage of the exchange rate - acquiring US dollars for future travel or purchasing goods in the US while on vacation.
Benefits for TD Canada Trust customers visiting the US
"With March break fast approaching, TD is here to assist Canadian customers with their US banking needs as they travel south of the border, whether before they travel or once they reach their destination, " said Kevin Moffatt, Vice President, Everyday Banking, TD Canada Trust. "We can help them take advantage of favourable exchange rates and provide convenient access to US funds."
Some of the products and services Canadians travelling to the US may find helpful:
TD Canada Trust customers can use their Access Card in the US to
withdraw cash from over 1,800 TD Bank ATMs from Maine to Florida,
without paying additional system fees. Foreign exchange fees still
apply. To find a TD ATM in the US, download the TD mobile app to your
BlackBerry, iPhone or Android or visit www.tdbank.com.
TD Canada Trust customers can also make debit purchases without paying
additional processing fees, at hundreds of major US retailers that
belong to the NYCE network, when using stores' PIN-based terminals. For
a list of retailers, please click here: http://www.nyce.net/retailers/retailer_list/index.htm.
TD Canada Trust offers the TD US Dollar VISA card, which allows frequent
visitors to the US to avoid worrying about conversion rates and
surprises when they receive their monthly credit card statement. Also,
the card provides added peace of mind with up to $25,000 in Trip
Interruption Insurance and up to $1,000 in Delayed / Lost Baggage
TD Canada Trust is also a good source for travel medical insurance
before you go. Provincial or territorial health insurance doesn't
always cover the costs of medical emergencies when you're outside of
Canada and travel medical insurance can fill in the gap. Per trip
coverage is a great option for occasional travellers and frequent
travellers and families may prefer the convenience and savings of our
Annual Plan, which also provides trip cancellation and trip
- Customers can use the toll free number to reach TD Canada Trust anytime from anywhere in the US at: 1-866-222-3456.
